Michelle Miles
My work is about meaning — showing it when I want to, obscuring it when I need to. Memory works like that too: things accumulate, become lost, and every time you open the box and look at it, it's changed forever.
The materials are humble — dishcloths, coffee filters, raw canvas, hand embroidery. Text appears in the work. So does the anatomical heart. The subject matter is personal, but the feeling is universal. I bet you have felt this too.
